High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE)
At Macquarie Park Public School, we will be committed to recognising and nurturing the strengths, talents and potential of every learner. Through evidence-informed assessment practices, differentiated teaching and targeted support, students will have opportunities to engage in rich and challenging learning experiences. Enrichment programs and advanced learning pathways will be developed to ensure high-potential and gifted learners are supported to achieve excellence and flourish.

Q1: When will the new school open?
A: The school is scheduled to open for students on Wednesday, 3 February 2027 (Day 1, Term 1, 2027).

Q3: What is the school’s vision and mission?
A: At Macquarie Park Public School, we are committed to building a vibrant and inclusive learning community where every child feels valued, connected and supported to thrive. Through positive relationships, high expectations and a strong sense of belonging, we will nurture confident, curious and resilient learners who are empowered to achieve their personal best and flourish both academically and personally. Our staff will development a vision statement and mission when they commence in Term 4 2026.
Q4. What are the school bell times and supervision times?
A: School will commence at 8.45am and finish at 2.45pm. Students can be dropped off from 8.15am when supervision commences.
Q5. Where can I find information about the school uniform?
A: The school uniform is currently being developed and will be supplied by Trutex (formally LW Reid). Images of the uniform and how to purchase uniforms will be published on the school website very soon: Uniform
Q5: Who can enrol at the new school?
A: Enrolments are open for all students commencing in 2027 from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our school website provides up-to-date information regarding the school intake area, how to enrol, out-of-area enrolments, distance education, and information for temporary residents. Q6: How and when can I enrol my child?

Q7: Is there support available for enrolling students with additional needs?
A: Yes. We are committed to inclusive education. Students with additional needs will have an Individual Education Program (IEP) developed with parents, teachers, and specialists. Support services include:
- Learning and Support Teachers
- Specialist staff (e.g. speech, occupational therapy, psychology)
- Assistive technology
- Adjustments to curriculum and school environment

Q8: What curriculum does the school follow?
A: We follow the NSW K-10 syllabus, developed by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
Q9: Are there any special programs offered (e.g., language, sports, music)?
A: Yes. We offer a range of programs during school hours as part of our curriculum. After school, independent providers will offer activities onsite. More information will be available soon on our school website: Before and After School Activities
Q10: What facilities will the school have?
A: Our new five-storey building will be ready by the end of 2026, accommodating 750 students. Facilities include:
- 33 modern classrooms in “hub” arrangements
- Administration and staff areas
- Canteen
- Multipurpose hall with full-sized basketball court
- Library
- Covered outdoor learning areas (COLAs)
Q11. Will there be grass areas for students to play?
A: The school features covered outdoor learning areas (COLAs) on levels 1 to 4, play equipment on level 2, and a rooftop playground with a running track. Students can also use the Community Garden on the ground floor, which includes a yarning circle, teepee, gardens, and fixed equipment, as well as a COLA with a climbing wall and activity markings.
The Village Green, opposite the school, offers grass space for classes to enjoy fresh air during breaks with their teachers.
Additionally, we are working with Ryde Council to access nearby Wilga Park for supervised lunchtime play and PE activities.
Q12: Is there school bus service or transport options available?
A: The school encourages walking, riding, and public transport. We are close to metro stations and bus stops. More travel details are available on our Travel to School webpage: Travel to school
